August 2025

On Tuesday 19th August, more than 80 of England’s most promising young rugby talents from Prem Rugby clubs gathered at the historic Rugby School for the annual RPA Academy Induction Day - a vital step on their journey to elite rugby.

The day was designed to equip players with the tools, knowledge, and mindset needed to thrive in the highly demanding world of elite rugby.

Players took part in a variety of interactive workshops and discussions covering mental wellbeing, social media responsibility, tips on agents and contracts, and building strong networks - all essential skills for success on and off the pitch. These sessions were delivered by team members of the RPA and social media experts B5 Consultancy.

A key highlight was a Q&A session featuring elite players and coaches, including Andy Titterell, Matt Kvesic and Ben Morris, who shared their insights and experiences of life at the top level of the game.

The day also introduced players to the RPA’s Gain Line programme – the player development programme designed to guide members throughout their playing careers and beyond.

Richard Bryan, RPA Player Welfare Director, said: "The Academy Induction Day plays a crucial role in helping young players understand the realities and responsibilities of elite rugby. It’s about more than just what happens on the field - it’s about preparing for a sustainable career and life beyond the game. We’re proud to support, promote and protect these players as they take their first important steps.

We want to thank Prem Rugby and the Rugby Football Union for their continued support of this essential programme.”
