August 6

The PPF was pleased to support the second WPBSA annual Player Support Programme for new and returning players to the World Snooker Tour.

The event was held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre on the 5th and 6th August when the snooker players received education on a range of important issues including sports betting integrity, snookers rules and regulations, social media, mental wellbeing, and financial management.

The sports betting integrity sessions were delivered by Andrew Whittingham from Sports Radar.

Simon Taylor, Chief Executive of the PPF said,

“Thanks to our partnership with the betting industry we design, deliver and support player friendly education for players from all sports on the importance of sports betting integrity.  Match fixing has been called one of the biggest threats to professional sport and we are pleased to play our part in helping to protect players and their sports.”

Neil Tomkins, Player Relations Managers at WPBSA Players said,

“The support from the PPF makes a real difference to our work with the players.  The partnership ensures that all new and returning tour players are aware of our sport’s rules and have received face-to-face education on sports betting integrity.”
